About us

The International Office for Water is a non-profit association established under French law, recognised as a public utility and created in 1991.

Its activities cover the small and large water cycles, as well as aquatic environmentsbiodiversity, the circular economy and climate change.

OiEau’s long-standing mission is to develop skills for better management of water, a vital resource, at all scales – local, national and transboundary – in France and worldwide.

OiEau covers four complementary areas of expertise:

As a result, we possess broad-based technical, operational, institutional, legal and strategic expertise, which we place at the service of a wide variety of customers and partners.

Mobilising and developing human skills that closely align with needs, better sharing information, making the organisations we support more robust, supporting effective international cooperation and remaining at the cutting edge of innovation: these are the general-interest challenges that OiEau has been addressing with pride each and every day for more than 30 years.
