European projects

Over the decades, OiEau has developed a solid expertise in setting up and running projects with European funding of three types:

• Calls for projects on Research and Innovation programmes (Horizon Europe and PRIMA in the Mediterranean area), Innovation in the environmental sector (LIFE programmes), inter-regional cooperation in various territorial areas, including the overseas territories (INTERREG programmes and the EU Southern and Eastern neighbourhood) ;

• Tenders for service contracts, technical assistance or framework contracts for the European Commission or other bodies such as the European Environment Agency ;
• Institutional twinning and European partnerships for which OiEau represents the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, usually in consortium with other European countries.

These collaborative projects gather up to 20 international partners over a period of 1 to 5 years. Our ability to mobilise trusted French and international partners with complementary scientific, technical and institutional profiles, enables us to organise high-quality exchanges between peers, to set up real living laboratories for testing and demonstrating innovative products and services, and to study and compare new governance methods.

All of our technical know-how and info-structures developed on a French, European and international scale serve as a foundation for new projects:

• Information Systems
  
• Nature-based solutions
  
• Regulation, compliance with European directives, reporting
• Integrated Water Resources Management

In addition, thanks to the educational platforms of our Training Centre, unique in Europe, OiEau can implement :

• tailor-made solutions for full-scale testing and validation, but in a controlled environment,
• prototypes developed in the laboratory by research centres or industrialists, before demonstration in the field.
