Monitoring reports & Summaries

Demand for good environmental data management continues to grow, especially because of the exponential increase in data and their potential reuse through online tools. Technology monitoring and summaries play a key role in building an understanding of the environment and raising awareness among stakeholders. In fact, these activities are a central part of every organisation’s strategy.

Once data are properly managed within an information system, they can then be analysed – as long as the organisation in question employs the best practices and specific information technologies that OiEau has been developing since its inception. OiEau therefore produces monitoring reports and summaries on the effective management of water and environmental data in France, in Europe and worldwide, with customers and partners in 60 countries. OiEau-produced reports and summaries are specifically designed to support knowledge development and decision-making, allowing organisations to efficiently use all available information online, to browse through this information in order to update and deepen their knowledge, and to identify major trends and emerging topics. They cater to the requirements of large private companies, as well as of public bodies at the level of cities, basins, transboundary basins and countries, drawing on OiEau’s expertise in the underlying technical and regulatory framework.

Upon request, OiEau can produce:

Information monitoring reports, covering various facets of the water, waste and biodiversity sectors, and more. OiEau identifies, collects and disseminates scientific, technical, regulatory or normative information related to the subject of interest or to current events. The results are presented in various formats (newsletters, bulletins, curated pages, etc.), on different media (paper, emails, web pages) and at predefined intervals (weekly, monthly, etc.). Some of these reports are available online at veille.oieau.fr.

Strategic monitoring reports, which draw on the outputs of OiEau’s information monitoring activities (see previous point) and provide relevant information, processed and analysed in order to provide insights into trends, emerging topics, key stakeholders, etc. The reports are presented in various formats (newsletters, bulletins, etc.) and on different media (paper, emails, web pages).

Bibliographic summary reports, which use research scenarios to identify available bibliographic references within scientific databases and scholarly literature. The results are presented in a document containing a list of identified references, along with various relevance indicators. Some of these reports are available online at doc.oieau.fr and at documentation.eauetbiodiversite.fr.

Bibliometric summary reports, which provide relevant, processed and analysed information in order to reveal and identify trends in scientific and technical output. These reports, which map the fields covered by the selected publications, are presented as a document containing bibliometric and summary indicators (main contributors, publications per year, main individual and corporate authors, breakdown by language, main key words, etc.).

Documentary summary reports, which focus on a specific topic such as “the impact of drought in France” and contain key facts and highlights extracted from a set of documents, providing the selected information in an objective and concise manner. The results are presented in the form of a document. Some of these reports are available online at doc.oieau.fr and at documentation.eauetbiodiversite.fr.

Operational summary reports, which aim to understand how a given subject is perceived by target stakeholders in order, for instance, to support its emergence. These reports are based on the findings of a study conducted using specific tools and methodologies, such as a sociological territorial analysis of the issues and stakeholders (DTSEA), a survey, a sociological study or a barriers and drivers analysis. The results are presented in the form of a report document. Some of these reports are available online at doc.oieau.fr.
