Since it opened more than 40 years ago, the Training Centre’s facilities have been regularly enhanced and expanded to better build the skills of learners in the water, sanitation and circular economy sector, whatever their level and profile (blue-collar worker, supervisor, manager, elected representative) and the specifics of their role.

OiEau’s in-person trainings place job skills front and centre, helping to enhance the capabilities of its customers’ teams. Learners get to see and experience water-sector technologies first-hand and train safely in a real-life work situation across our 45,000 m2 of full-size thematic teaching platforms, which closely recreate their work environment.

Thanks to this approach, OiEau’s courses focus on learning through doing – learners repeat, test and analyse specific skills and operations multiple times, under the guidance of an instructor, to embed their learning. Our facilities support simulations that would be impossible on real-life units, such as testing equipment, diagnosing and fixing malfunctions, and running comparative tests.

Trail-and-error is an essential component of adult learning, providing the ideal opportunity to assess job skills and operations and understand their consequences.

Through this kind of hands-on experience, learners develop or build on the skills they will need to perform their duties.
