Networks in France
In France, wide range of stakeholders operating at various administrative and/or geographical levels – national, regional, departmental, hydrographic district, river basin, etc. – are involved in the sustainable management of water and biodiversity.
In order to meet these challenges, OiEau works with various partners in order to set up, unite and coordinate lasting communities of stakeholders.
It connects organisations with similar and complementary roles within a territory and fosters the centralisation and dissemination of knowledge, experiences, tools and documents, so that they can more easily be shared. OiEau also liaises between all of these communities in France, sometimes connecting them with international partners.
Lastly, it plays a strategic role in the circulation and exchange of knowledge between the scientific community, managers and politicians.
In mainland France and overseas territories, OiEau:
- facilitates networks of SAGE and environmental contract stakeholders
- connects vocational training stakeholders in France
- regularly enriches value-added products and provides technical support to documentation and information centres
- collects, from Departmental Directorates of Territories and the Sea (DDTMs), prefectoral orders containing health classifications and showing the boundaries of shellfish farming areas, and disseminates these in the atlas, with financial support from the French Ministry of Agriculture.
