The right to water and sanitation as a human right celebrated on the World Day of Social Justice

Since 2010, in resolution 64/292, the United Nations recognises the "right to safe and clean drinking water and sanitation" as an essential human right for the full enjoyment of life and the right to exercise all human rights.
OiEau, an association recognised as being of public utility and approved for "Environmental Protection", has been working for more than 30 years for better management of water resources, at all levels, in France, Europe and in the world.
Our projects, which cover all aspects of the water and sanitation cycle, are therefore part of the implementation of one of the seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aims to "ensure access to water and sanitation for all and ensure sustainable management of water resources".
Thus, thanks to our 4 complementary areas of expertise, we contribute to the achievement of the SDG 6:
- Technical and institutional support & Cooperation: by accompanying the implementation of actions at all levels, from local to cross-border.
- Training & Educational Engineering: by increasing the skills of the thousands of people in the field who attend our numerous training courses each year, for all levels, dedicated to a wide variety of themes including drinking water and sanitation.
- Data & Information Systems: by collecting and processing data to produce knowledge, a real decision-making tool.
- Networking of water stakeholders: by sharing information, tools and experiences on common themes, to promote participation, efficiency and innovation.
During the United Nations Water Decade Conference, which will be held in New York from 22 to 25 March 2023, on the topic "Water and sustainable development", OiEau will be present in the person of Mr. Eric TARDIEU, its General Manager.
He will speak in favor of Integrated Water Resource Management, combining economic efficiency, social equity and environmental sustainability, an indissociable tool for good governance at the level of hydrographic basins.
