Julien Louchard, OiEau Trainer, was asked by Le Parisien to share his analysis on wastewater reuse in France, in a context of increased drought.

To fight against the lack of water in France, as a consequence of the drought of summer 2022 and the irregular rainfall of this winter, a better reuse of wastewater is one of the solutions put forward. The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announced a decree to this effect at the 2023 Agricultural Show, while only 1% of wastewater is reused in France.

For an article in Le Parisien published on 28 February, OiEau expert Julien Louchard was interviewed to shed light on the debate on wastewater reuse and its regulation in France, particularly on the use of this water for agriculture.
