Launch of the Water Governance 2027 cluster

Innwater, Govaqua and Retouch Nexus are 3 European projects funded by the European Commission's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. Together, they have decided to create a cluster, which will be officially launched on 19 June.
Water governance is essential for tackling the transformation of society, as water cuts across sustainability objectives across sectors and stakeholders. The "Water Governance 2027" Cluster was born out of the synergy between 3 European projects, all of which aim to identify, develop and validate innovative approaches to water governance.
On 19 June, the coordinators of the European projects Innwater, Govaqua and Retouch Nexus will be presenting to representatives of the European Commission and the OECD the context of their projects including the policy dimension, their ambition as well as their core methods in term of governance assessment across Europe.
OiEau, partner in the Govaqua and Innwater projects
OiEau is involved in two of the three European projects that compose this cluster:
- Govaqua - Launched on 2 March 2023, the purpose of this European project is to implement governance innovations for a transition to sustainable and equitable water use in Europe. More specifically, it aims to advance the theory and practice of the transition to sustainability in water governance and to identify, develop and validate innovations in water governance.
- InnWater - Since 3 March 2023, its objective has been to promote social innovation to renew multi-level and inter-sectoral water governance. This European project is a response to the need to find sustainable solutions for arbitrating water use, taking into account the realities on the ground of the players faced with the challenges of climate change.
