From 9 to 13 June 2025 in Nice, France and Costa Rica are co-organising the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3). On this occasion, the International Network of Basin Organisations (INBO), whose permanent technical secretariat is provided by OiEau, is mobilising through key speeches linked to the integrated management of the land-sea continuum and governance at basin level.
Deltas of the World Summit

Organised with the support of the Ramsar Convention, this event will highlight the specific challenges facing deltas – ecosystems that are essential but vulnerable to climate change.
Panel 2, entitled ‘Prospering: Meeting Adaptation Needs and Promoting Sustainable Development, Towards Collaborative Delta Management’, will be moderated by Éric Tardieu, INBO Secretary General and General Director of OiEau, and will bring together Busadee Santipitaks (Mekong River Commission), Mathieu Stortz (Compagnie Nationale du Rhône), LaToya Cantrell (Mayor of New Orleans) and Fred Boltz (Global Environment Facility), to discuss adaptation needs, sustainable development levers and collaborative governance approaches in the world’s major deltas.
Spotlight on the Land to Sea Continuum

Organised by AFD, ADEME, FSWP and Circulearth, the event ‘Spotlight on the Land to Sea Continuum to Protect Marine Environments from Plastic Pollution’ will focus on the transfer of plastic pollution from land to the ocean, which accounts for 80% of marine plastic waste.
Éric Tardieu, Secretary General of INBO and General Director of OiEau, will present the handbook on plastic waste transfers to aquatic environments.
INBO experts will also participate in several sessions throughout the week on the themes of coastal resilience, cooperation in the Mediterranean, coastal biodiversity, marine pollution, and interregional experience sharing.
