The project in brief
The aim is to strengthen Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the DIANA Region within the Sambirano catchment area in an innovative way, by incorporating the dissemination of results at regional and national levels, as well as a component dedicated to climate change adaptation and the preservation of biodiversity.
OiEau's missions
The capacity-building, support and guidance activities carried out by OiEau experts will enable the following objectives to be achieved:
- Strengthening IWRM in the Sambirano pilot basin:
- Ensuring the consistency of planning activities at basin level,
- Organising knowledge and data,
- Facilitating field activities.
- Knowledge transfer at regional and national levels:
- Knowledge sharing,
- Capacity building for institutions responsible for IWRM.
- Establishment of a biosphere reserve in the DIANA region:
- Context assessment,
- Preparation of the action plan.
