The project in brief

Support for EU Eastern Partnership countries in their transition to greener and more resilient economies, through five components: the circular economy, water management, transposition of EU environmental standards, integration of environmental data, and cross-border cooperation.

OiEau's missions

  • Support for the implementation of integrated water resource management (IWRM), with the development of river basin management plans (including nature-based solutions), strengthening of basin councils, improvement of wastewater treatment, and addressing the economic aspects of water management.
  • Improving access to water data through national information platforms.
  • Supporting the transposition of the EU environmental acquis, particularly with regard to water directives.
  • Coordinating communication activities and programme visibility at European level and in beneficiary countries.
