The project in brief

During the first three phases, which began in 2021, progress was made on establishing the Haut Bandama Local Water Committee, promoting Water Information Systems (WIS), building capacity through regional exchanges (particularly with Senegal) and with France, and the creation of Local Water and Sanitation Committees (CLEA) at the level of small water bodies and raising awareness among local stakeholders.


OiEau's missions

  • Support for CLEA activities (organisation of general meetings, definition of roadmaps, etc.),
    • Acquisition and management of knowledge about water (relaunch of the hydrological bulletin, integration of participatory monitoring data into the existing platform),
    • Support for the creation of a water agency (French, Ghanaian, Senegalese experience, etc.),
    • Training and awareness-raising for members of the Directorate-General for Water Resources (DGRE) team.
