The project in brief

SOLUCIR responds to the need to promote wider adoption and deployment of circular and decentralised water management solutions in the face of urban population growth and inadequate infrastructure, particularly in peri-urban areas.

SOLUCIR is based on:

  • 23 Inspirational Pilot Sites (IPLs), where innovative technologies are already being implemented in the field;
  • the development of 5 Pathfinding Studies (PFSs) in Europe and 1 transferability study in South Africa, in collaboration with water services and local actors and stakeholders to demonstrate the performance, feasibility and scalability of decentralised solutions.

OiEau's missions

  • Management of the work package dedicated to new investment frameworks and circular economic models for water;
  • Contribution to data collection and analysis with two IPLs;
  • Analysis of European and international policy and regulatory frameworks;
  • Contribution to the development of policy recommendations;
  • Design of the training platform;
  • Contribution to the communication and dissemination plan.
