The project in brief

OIEau monitors a range of water-related topics in France and around the world on a daily basis. To do so, it uses website and social media monitoring tools and a curation tool developed specifically in-house: VOCABE (Veille et Organisation de la Collecte d'Actualités sur la Biodiversité et l'Eau – Monitoring and Organisation of News Collection on Biodiversity and Water). This platform also enables the automatic generation of e-mails according to parameters defined by the monitors, as well as external distribution via RSS feeds.

OIEau distributes numerous newsletters:

  • Aquaveille: weekly newsletter covering legal and technical news in France and around the world, also available on smartphones.
  • Aquatic Biodiversity Newsletter: monthly newsletter on issues relating to animal and plant species in aquatic environments and marine areas.
  • The Gemapi newsletter: aimed at local authority water and sanitation service providers, covering technical, legal and economic solutions for flood prevention.

Etc.

OIEau manually updates the Newssections of its websites:

OIEau's monitoring activity involves several people who are experts in the field of water and able to identify the most relevant topics and analyse and exploit strategic information.
