The project in brief
OIEau monitors a range of water-related topics in France and around the world on a daily basis. To do so, it uses website and social media monitoring tools and a curation tool developed specifically in-house: VOCABE (Veille et Organisation de la Collecte d'Actualités sur la Biodiversité et l'Eau – Monitoring and Organisation of News Collection on Biodiversity and Water). This platform also enables the automatic generation of e-mails according to parameters defined by the monitors, as well as external distribution via RSS feeds.
OIEau distributes numerous newsletters:
- Aquaveille: weekly newsletter covering legal and technical news in France and around the world, also available on smartphones.
- Aquatic Biodiversity Newsletter: monthly newsletter on issues relating to animal and plant species in aquatic environments and marine areas.
- The Gemapi newsletter: aimed at local authority water and sanitation service providers, covering technical, legal and economic solutions for flood prevention.
Etc.
OIEau manually updates the Newssections of its websites:
- The ‘News France and International’ and ‘Events Calendar’ sections of the OIEau website.
- The ‘News’, “Events”, ‘Experience Sharing’ and ‘Documentation’ sections of Gest’eau
- The collaborative monitoring section of the Water and Biodiversity documentary collaborative portal
- The news section of the Services eaufrance website
OIEau's monitoring activity involves several people who are experts in the field of water and able to identify the most relevant topics and analyse and exploit strategic information.
