Urban wastewater - The SIIF UWW platform extended to all EU27 countries

On 15 September, the UWWTD-SIIF platform published the new results for compliance with the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC), by agglomeration, for all EU27 countries (and for the United Kingdom).
The ‘UWWTD SIIF’ open source platform (Structured Implementation and Information Framework for the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive) was developed by the International Office for Water (OiEau) in partnership with UBA (Austrian Environment Agency) on behalf of DG Environment.
It is a generic tool presenting a country's sanitation data in the form of data sheets, maps, tables and statistics, with a strong geospatial component, incorporating numerous automatic calculations and sorting functions. It facilitates access to information for all users.
In 2016, the tool was tested to assess the compliance of six EU Member States with the provisions of the ERU Directive. The platform has now been extended to the 27 Member States and the United Kingdom, confirming the concept's operability.
