OiEau supports Imerys in raising employee awareness of water issues

Imerys, the world leader in mineral specialties for industry, with 14,000 employees in 40 countries, asked OiEau to prepare a workshop to raise awareness of water issues (Imerys Connect day) during its inter-site day on 28 September.

The task was to produce a 75-minute Power Point© presentation that met precise specifications. One of the expectations was that the quality and quantity of water should be covered in a fun, educational format (diagrams, quizzes, etc.) aimed primarily at operators, some of whom were illiterate.

Beginning with general notions about the water cycle and water consumption in everyday life, the document then focuses on Imerys' activities, with figures on the mining industry, withdrawals on Imerys sites, water consumption by activity, and ends with potential savings and recycling of this resource through a moment of exchange and commitment from the teams.

This turnkey presentation is accompanied by a "session leader's guide". Each safety coordinator from the 170 industrial sites was trained beforehand by the Imerys HSE team using this guide.

All the documents were translated into several languages by Imerys so that they could be presented to all employees at all sites on the same day.

The preparation of this workshop enabled discussions with the group's HSE team and the launch of a process to support IMERYS in defining its water management strategy for 2024.
