My name comes from the Greek kigklizô, which translates as ‘tail wagging’.

Brown and white, slightly plump, I feed mainly on invertebrates.

I like fast, clear streams running over a bed of gravel or rock.

Nicknamed the ‘water blackbird’, I am a sedentary aquatic passerine.
