Numerical simulation of measured multitracer time series in shallow groundwater from a limestone aquifer
A tracer study was performed in a limestone aquifer near Tauber-Bischofshei- m, Germany. To determine the temporal dynamics of the aquifer time series of the tracers 3H and CFCs were measured. While 3H and CFC-113 concentrations are nearly constant over time CFC-11 and CFC-12 show a seasonal variation. Tracer transport was simulated numerically by means of the programs MODFLOW and MT3D. Satisfactory agreement between calculated and measured concentrations was achieved for 3H and CFC-113. For the simulation of CFC-11 and CFC-12 further development is necessary.
