Field visits to Munich and Basel area on Restoration of River Dynamics and Continuity in Heavily Modified Rivers

During the first part of the excursion (May 22-23) we will visit the River Isar in Germany to see how the Isar Plan has enhanced ecological and fluvial processes, improved fish passage, whilst at the same time providing new recreation areas for residents and visitors. le projet LIFE WALPHY, co-financé par l’Union européenne, entre dans sa phase finale. De nombreux chantiers de réhabilitation de cours d’eau ont été réalisés pendant 5 ans tant dans l’axe longitudinal du cours d’eau : effacement et contournement d’obstacles, rampe rugueuse ou passes à bassins mais aussi dans l’amélioration de la continuité transversale avec diversification d’habitats, reméandrations ou création d’annexes hydrauliques dans le lit majeur.
